A Sensitive DNA Stain |

GR Green from Excellgen is the most recent of the new generation of DNA stains. It is more sensitive than both SYBR Safe and GelGreen. GR Green is fairly stable in aqueous solution so it can be used like EtBr - simply store your ready-made staining solution on the benchtop. And GR Green also works well when added to the agarose before pouring the gel. This saves time because the gel is ready for viewing immediately after electrophoresis. |

GR Green approaches GelStar for sensitivity |

|
Detection of minor DNA bands in a mixture requires an extra sensitive DNA stain. GR Green is significantly better than SYBR Safe and approaches the sensitivity of GelStar with a photographic detection limit below 20 pg of dsDNA. |

DNA 1kb ladder in a 3-fold dilution series was separated on 2% agarose gels in TAE buffer. The gels were then stained with either SYBR Safe, GR Green, GelGreen or GelStar. All stains were used at 1:10,000 dilution in TAE for 30 minutes. Gels were then viewed on a Dark Reader transilluminator. Photographs were taken using a Canon G6 digital camera equipped with an AF580 Dark Reader camera filter. |
